Marla
Kirban graduated from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts in
1970 with a B.A. in Theater Education and a minor in Speech. She began
her career in the voice over industry - literally by doing a favor
and running a voice over casting session for a friend, Charles Rosen
(Charles Rosen Casting.) She discovered that not only did she help
the talented actors and actresses get their “reads” right,
but she was good at it and really enjoyed the medium. Ms. Kirban moved
to Los Angeles shortly thereafter and ended up working for Jeff Danis
at ICM for the next seven years as their In-house Voice over Director.
At ICM, she worked with talent the likes of Stockard Channing, Steven
Weber, Megan Mullaley (Will and Grace), Estelle Harris, Jane Lynch
(Best in Show), Ana Gasteyer (SNL) and Jim Cummings (the voice of
Winnie the Pooh and the Tasmanian Devil.) Five years ago, she returned
to New York City to start her own voice over studio and to date she
trains, directs and provides guidance for many aspiring voice over
amateurs and professionals alike.
